A Little Bit
About Me
Married to a wonderful research scientist, we have two remarkable children. I’ve loved art, design and creating things for as long as I can remember, but took an unconventional route to where I am now. Outside of family and work I enjoy music, sport, film, good food, fine wine, real ale and good company. Humour plays an important role in my life.
I set up Yellow Spade Design Ltd in 2011 with the aim of providing cost-effective graphic design services to SME's, the education sector, not for profit organisations and individual clients...whilst developing a small range of retail products based on my own artwork. I'm getting there.
I believe in fair and ethical business practices and thoroughly enjoy working with the diverse range of clients I have been lucky enough to meet since the company's creation. I look forward to meeting many more as it continues to evolve.

Thinking inside the box
Adobe Creative Cloud provides the main components of the Yellow Spade toolbox and whilst only the four elements I use most figure in the chart below, I do utilise other aspects of CC. Also, as an Office 365 subscriber I benefit from the latest MS Office applications. On the web front, Joomla and Wordpress are my preferred platforms for creating and managing sites, and I currently use Flipsnack for interactive online publications. Hosting is provided by 1&1.
Below is a rough (hypothetical) guide to my 'competence' levels demonstated with some of these spectacularly powerful tools, based on customer feedback and self-critique.
